FAQ
What is this site?
- We are an AU or Alternate Universe Role-playing site that focuses on Bleach, a manga written by Tite Kubo. We are a text-based RP, so we take turns writing and by that process produce a story. Each person has a character (some have more than one) and thus have their own main character whose prospective we get to see. It makes for interesting developments.
How do I make a character?
- To make a character, you have to fill out an application which gives us an idea of what to expect and react to when you are playing your character. Go [here] and read over the application quickly. Fill all of that out and post it up. We will try to get you approved! If you need examples, you can also look [here].
Is there a plot?
- Absolutely. On BPR, we are actually a very plot-centric site. Every few months there will be a plot update. Of course, we encourage you with all we have to make your own character plots between members because not only do you probably want to get stronger, you will want to make friends and develop your character to participate when the more interesting events roll by. If you want to give the current plot a read, go [here] and have a look.
Can I start as a captain?
- No. On BPR, everyone starts off on the same level unless you got a special event bonus (which wont change your start rank regardless). All of the starting captains are staff-controlled NPCs, though slots for PCs will open up as the story progresses. You have to gain strength before you can apply for a slot like that anyhow.
Can i start at [this] rank?
- Again, No. Unless your insert was E rank where everyone starts, you can't start at a higher rank. You must progress by posting and being active on the site. We do not offer freebies. Staff also follow these rules.
How do I get stronger?
- By being active! Every time you post, you gain Soul Power which you then spend in the shop to strengthen your character. Look [here] for more specifics.
How do I make money to spend in the shop?
- Basically the same question as above. The "money" you are thinking of is accrued on posts and through missions. Go to the link above and read for specifics.
Where can I spend money?
- At the shop! Go [here] and have a look around. Its not too difficult.
Can I be staff?
- Probably not. If we need staff members and think you might be good, we'll call you. Don't call us.
How do NPCs work?
- Go [here] for specifics on that. There are public NPCs that can be RPed through anyone in any topic, and then there are the major NPCs that staff handle. Treat them like you would any other character.
Can I make my own NPCs?
- Absolutely. You can make them up on the fly, or go [here] and post them up for yourself and other people to use. It makes it easier to imagine them if you give them a faceclaim and flesh them out a little.
Can I have more than one character?
- Yes. We allow you to have as many characters as you like, but if you do not meet the requirements for activity checks, you may be asked to shelve some of them until you have enough activity to handle the load you desire.
Can I have more than one account?
- We ask that you have one account per character. That way we can accurately control your points for that character. But yes, you can have as many accounts as you do characters.
How do I get featured on the sidebar?
- Along with the plot update and events that come along every few months, we will have polls set up each time. Members nominate and vote, choosing who fits best and deserves to be on the sidebar. Don't nominate yourself though, that's just lame.
I have a problem with [this] person, what should I do?
- That can be a hard question. If you think that someone is cheating in the RP, try to have a civil conversation with them. We know its the internet and people can be unreasonable, but we take politeness very serious on the site. Try to work with each other. If there is a serious problem or you feel that you are being harassed, contact a staff member directly. Keep this crap out of the chatbox.
I have to leave for a while, what should I do?
- Head down to the out of character tab and toss up a topic telling us you're leaving. Of course we would like to know why, but you don't even have to tell us that. Just let us know so we don't toss all your characters away.
